King Charles launches new food scheme on 75th birthday

Britain’s King Charles commemorates his 75th birthday by inaugurating the Coronation Food Project, aimed at addressing food poverty and minimising waste. Joined by Queen Camilla, the royal couple plans to mark the occasion by touring a surplus food distribution centre and engaging with leading UK supermarkets to explore avenues for redistributing surplus food. In addition to hosting a reception to honour nurses and midwives, Charles extends the celebration by acknowledging individuals and organizations sharing his milestone age. This initiative aligns with his commitment to social causes and emphasizes the importance of collaborative efforts in combating food poverty and promoting sustainability.

Remembrance Day

Remembrance Day

This day serves as a solemn occasion to honour and pay tribute to those who served and sacrificed their lives in the defense of their countries. It is observed with ceremonies, memorial services, and a moment of silence to reflect on the sacrifices made by military personnel. The red poppy flower is often worn as a symbol of remembrance, inspired by the famous war poem “In Flanders Fields.”
