Commonwealth Chamber delegation meets Sri Lankan BOI Chairman
Commonwealth Chamber of Commerce recently concluded a visit to Sri Lanka, where they engaged in discussions with Mr. Dinesh Weerakkody (D.BA), Chairman of the Board of Investment (BOI) in Sri Lanka. The meeting focused on current economic policies in Sri Lanka and explored potential avenues for collaboration between the Commonwealth and Sri Lanka.
During the meeting, Mr. Weerakkody briefed the delegation on ongoing policy initiatives aimed at fostering economic growth and attracting foreign investment to Sri Lanka. The delegation, in turn, discussed ways in which the Commonwealth can contribute to these efforts, particularly through knowledge sharing, technical assistance, and facilitating business partnerships.
Both parties expressed optimism about the prospects for enhanced cooperation and mutual benefit, underscoring the importance of such dialogues in strengthening economic ties between Sri Lanka and the Commonwealth member states.

Shruti Vora rewrites history books to become first Indian to win 3-star Grand Prix event
Shruti Vora made history as the first Indian rider to win a three-star Grand Prix event in Lipica, Slovenia, scoring 67.761 points. She surpassed competitors Tatiana Antonenco of Moldova and Juliane Jerich of Austria. Shruti expressed immense satisfaction with her achievement, vowing to continue working hard. Having represented India in global events like the Dressage World Championship and Asian Games, her win is significant, especially in an Olympic year. This achievement adds to India’s recent success in equestrian events, following a gold win at the Hangzhou Asian Games in the dressage team event.
