Brunei high-speed network proposed

Brunei high-speed network proposed

Brunergy Utama, an infrastructure company based in Brunei, has put forth a proposal for a high-speed rail network connecting Brunei to cities in neighbouring Malaysia and Indonesia. The Trans-Borneo Railway project entails the construction of 1620 kilometres of new railway lines, incorporating four major stations in Kalimantan, Indonesia, and Sabah and Sarawak in Malaysia, along with Brunei, which would serve as interchange hubs.

This proposed project marks Brunei’s inaugural large-scale rail initiative, as historically, the country has only seen the development of small industrial lines and minor railways.

Flora launches world’s first plastic-free paper tub in UK

Flora launches world’s first plastic-free paper tub in UK

Flora, a renowned food spread company, has taken a significant stride towards sustainability by introducing the world’s first plastic-free paper tub in the UK market.  This groundbreaking move aligns with Upfield’s global ambition to reduce plastic usage across its portfolio by an impressive 80% by 2030. The company, known for its commitment to environmental responsibility, has developed these tubs using compressed wet paper fibres, ensuring they are entirely oil and waterproof.

Unlike many paper packaging solutions, these tubs do not contain a plastic liner, making them fully recyclable along with other paper and cardboard household waste. Once wiped clean of any residue, consumers can conveniently dispose of the tubs in their regular recycling bins, contributing to a more sustainable future.
