Seychelles and Malawi have maintained a warm and enduring friendship since the establishment of diplomatic ties on 22 May 2001. In a recent bilateral meeting, at Maison Quéau de Quinssy, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism, Mr. Sylvestre Radegonde, engaged in discussions with the High Commissioner-designate of Malawi to Seychelles, H.E. Mr. Andrew Zumbe Kumwenda. This diplomatic dialogue highlighted their shared dedication to amplifying cooperation in targeted sectors. The meeting underscored the commitment of both countries to strengthen their partnership, elevate their alliance, and expand collaborative efforts.

This accomplishment solidifies its position as the fourth country to successfully execute a lunar landing. The Chandrayaan-3 mission represented India’s second endeavour to achieve a landing in the moon’s southern polar region — a largely unexplored area of substantial curiosity for both scientists and enthusiasts of space exploration. The noteworthy landing event was extensively covered live by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and was broadcast by their national broadcaster, Doordarshan.
