NASA launches satellite PREFIRE to monitor, predict and help mitigate climate change
NASA recently launched a small satellite as part of its PREFIRE (Polar Radiant Energy in the Far-InfraRed Experiment) mission to enhance climate change predictions. The satellite, deployed atop Rocket Lab’s Electron rocket from New Zealand, will use CubeSats to measure heat emissions from the Earth’s poles. This data will provide valuable insights into climate dynamics, improving our ability to model and understand climate change impacts.
