India, Papua New Guinea co-production ‘Papa Buka’ sets July shoot
In a remarkable cross-cultural cinematic endeavour, Indian filmmaker Dr. Bijukumar Damodaran’s upcoming film “Papa Buka” is set to commence principal photography of locations in Papua New Guinea in July.
The Story of “Papa Buka” “Papa Buka” follows the journey of Indian historians Romila and Anand, who travel to Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, intending to write a book about the Indian soldiers who fought against the Japanese during World War II in the country. Their quest leads them to 80-year-old war veteran Papa Buka, who serves as their guide, taking them to remote jungle villages to meet his compatriots and record their reminiscences of the war.

PM of Trinidad and Tobago to visit Ghana for Otumfuo’s Silver Jubilee celebrations
Trinidad and Tobago’s Prime Minister Keith Rowley is set to attend the 25th-anniversary celebrations of Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the revered traditional ruler of the Ashanti Kingdom in Ghana. This follows the recent visit of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II to Trinidad and Tobago to participate in the nation’s Emancipation Day festivities. Otumfuo Osei Tutu II is known for his significant role in preserving the cultural heritage and traditions of the Ashanti kingdom. Joining Prime Minister Rowley will be his wife, Sharon Rowley, along with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Caricom, Amery Browne. Additionally, during his brief visit to Ghana, the prime minister plans to meet with President Akufo-Addo.
