The Bahamas Independence Day
As the Bahamas embarks on its 51st year of independence, the government has unveiled an inspiring theme for the 2024 celebrations: “One People: United in Love and Service.” The holiday also highlights national symbols such as the Bahamian flag, which features three horizontal stripes (two aquamarine, one gold) and a black triangle at the hoist. This day serves as a reminder of the Bahamas’ journey to self-governance and its cultural heritage. Malawi Independence Day
As Malawi commemorates 60 years of independence, the recent passing of Vice President Saulos Chilima and other prominent figures has cast a shadow over the country, prompting President Lazarus Chakwera to call for a commemoration centered on prayer and national unity.
