Shelter Afrique plans $15m prefab factory in Cameroon
The Nairobi-based, Pan-African housing financier Shelter Afrique enters a deal with Cameroon to set up a prefab factory to provide low-cost construction materials. The lender has approved establishing the $15 million Industrial Housing Corporation (IHC) close to the main towns – either in Yaoundé or Duala.

Malta’s first space research touches back down on earth
Malta’s first space research experiment lands back on earth and is expected to be back in the hands of scientists soon. The project team sent samples to the International Space Station (ISS) of micro-organisms that cause diabetic ulcers in a bid to analyse how the tissue will going to react under extreme conditions.

Singapore scientists turn fruit leftovers into antibacterial bandages
Singapore scientists at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) finds an effective way to use food waste instead of just throwing it away. Scientists are managing food waste by using discarded durian covering and turning it into antibacterial organo-hydrogel bandages. The production of these bandages using waste materials and yeast is much more cost-effective than the conventional one.
