Jamaica’s Forestry Department has been putting in place several projects and initiatives to ensure urban areas are adequately greened and environmentally friendly. A new product line of miniature trees has been provided that can be placed on balconies in urban spaces. Forestry Department and Conservator of Forests’ CEO, Ainsley Henry, believes these interventions are vital to prevent environmental degradation.

Faisalabad Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FWCCI) successfully hosted the first all Pakistan Women Chambers Presidents Conference on women empowerment in Faisalabad. FWCCI is an apolitical, independent, not-for-profit organisation driven to serve the business community. It is helping women entrepreneurs to build and strengthen their corporate relations, promote their exports and become a part of the country’s economic growth.

Pakistan’s Minister of State for Climate Change, Zartaj Gul, urges concerted efforts to counter the adverse impacts of climate change. Gul said that the use of advanced technology to cope and monitor impending disasters of climate change is required. Despite contributing to less than one per cent of global greenhouse emissions, Pakistan has suffered a lot from a variety of natural calamities. More government initiatives are needed like the Ten Billion Tree Tsunami programme, Clean Green Pakistan, the establishment of national parks and forest restoration to mitigate climate crises.
