$40,000 grant – Women entrepreneurs to benefit in Fiji

In partnership with the British High Commission Suva, the Women Entrepreneurs Business Council (WEBC) grants $40,000 to assist and support women entrepreneurs. The grant involves various kinds of business learnings and activities like toastmasters training to build confidence in the marketing business. The project not just aims to empower women entrepreneurs with business skills, but also about giving them life skills to survive especially in this uncertain time.

Malaysia interested to foster trade ties with Pakistan

Malaysia seeks to enhance trade ties with Pakistan. Charge d’Affaires, High Commission of Malaysia, Deddy Faisal Ahmad Salleh during his visit to Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), said that Malaysia intends to further expand industrial training in Pakistan along with research and development, commercialisation and innovation to benefit Pakistan’s economy. He further added that close cooperation between the SMEs of the two countries would help in promoting business and bilateral trade.

Harjinder Kaur Randhawa: At 66 who started a mushroom farming biz

India’s Harjinder Kaur Randhawa, who is 66-year-old now, to support the family income started cultivating mushrooms as a hobby in her courtyard in 1989, in Dhardeo village of Amritsar district of Punjab. More than 30 years down the line, together with her sons, today Randhawa Mushroom Farm, grow as many as 12 varieties of mushroom such as button mushrooms, oyster mushrooms and milky mushrooms. The premises not just ensure all-year-round production, but also have a wholesale unit for storing up to eight quintals of the vegetable, in addition to a retail outlet.
