Jamaica begins central bank digital currency rollout
Bank of Jamaica (BOJ) prepares to launch Jam-Dex central bank digital currency (CBDC) soon. The government also plans to reward the first 100,000 residents who open a CBDC wallet with $2,500 (US$16) once the Jam-Dex goes live.
