Dussehra
The festival is celebrated on the tenth day of the month of Ashwin in the lunisolar Hindu calendar. In honour of the goddess Durga, the day marks the moment good prevailed over evil as Ravana, the King of Lanka was defeated by Lord Ram, the King of Ayodha. Celebrations include the burning of effigies of Ravana, followed by fireworks in a symbolic destruction of evil.

Vanuatu Constitution Day

Maldives National Day
This day is observed annually on the first day of Rabee ul Awwal, the third month of the Islamic calendar. The celebration begins with a flag-hoisting ceremony. National Cadet Corps and school performances are performed in public with Maldivian traditional music and festivities arranged for on the streets of Male.
