St Kitts and Nevis Independence Day
It is celebrated with patriotic flares of music, dance and parades. Special events are organised highlighting the common shared future of the island’s people. This day also allows citizens and residents to see members of the security forces and other organisations pay tribute to the nation during the Independence Day Military Parade.
King Charles greets world leaders as UK counts down to Queen’s funeral
King Charles III meets world leaders at Buckingham Palace ahead of Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral. US President Joe Biden with his wife Jill paid a final tribute to the late monarch. Later, the queen’s coffin will be laid to rest along with her late husband Prince Philip, parents and sister.

St Kitts and Nevis National Heroes Day
It was established in 1996 with the passage of the National Honours Act. Since then, the Order of the National Hero has been awarded to four other individuals: Paul Southwell and Sir Joseph Nathaniel France in 2004; Simeon Daniel in 2013; and Sir Kennedy Simmonds in 2015. This day celebrates people who helped shape the Federation of dual island nations.
