Saint Lucia National Day
Saint Lucia Day (National Day) marks the beginning of the Christmas season. On the Eve of St. Lucia’s Day, a grand festival of lights will be held in Castries, the capital of the island. The day also includes a competition to decorate lanterns and fireworks.
Commonwealth ministers adopt new model law to strengthen data protection rules
Commonwealth law ministers approves to update and adopt a new model law on data protection. This Commonwealth law model will handle the personal data of about 2.5 billion people. The law will be helpful in cyber related crimes, technology and cross-border data protection.

“Jamhuri” in Swahili means republic. This day is celebrated with feasts, political speeches, parades, and dancing. On the 59th Jamhuri Day, celebrations will be held at the Nyayo stadium in the nation’s capital of Nairobi. This year, a special theme has been established which is innovative Jamhuri Day focusing on Connecting, Innovating and Inspiring with Technology.
