Mahavir Jayanti India
On this day, Jains offer prayers and seek blessings from Lord Mahavir, who is regarded as the one who showed the path of liberation to mankind. People also participate in processions, visit Jain temples, and offer alms to the needy. Many also observe a day-long fast on this day as a mark of respect and devotion.
The festival is celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervour in various parts of India and other countries with significant Jain communities. It is a time of spiritual reflection and renewal for Jains, who seek to follow the teachings of Lord Mahavir and lead a life of compassion, non-violence, and self-discipline.
