The African Continental Free Trade Area: An opportunity for boosting women in trade
The African Continental Free Trade Area aims to boost the participation of women in trade. The 11th World Trade Organization (WTO) Ministerial Conference which included 31 Commonwealth countries, issued a Joint Declaration on Trade and Women’s Economic Empowerment which significantly pointed at the increasing gender responsiveness of trade and development policies and encourage participation of women in trade.

African Development Bank’s Youth Entrepreneurship and Innovation Multi-Donor Trust Fund provides more than $7.3 million for youth jobs and skills
African Development Bank approves 8 proposals through the Youth Entrepreneurship and Innovation Multi-Donor Trust Fund that will receive funding of more than $7.3 million to operationalise their activities, creating several new enterprises and about 20,000 jobs for youth across the continent. It is an initiative that promotes the creation of sustainable jobs for young Africans.
