Project Giant: Nigeria’s CBDC set for pilot rollout on Independence Day
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) is set to roll out its central bank digital currency (CBDC) project. The launch is likely to happen on the country’s 61st Independence Day celebration on Oct. 1 with a tiered AML/KYC regime for the eNaira. The technology partner for CBDC project, is a Barbados-based fintech outfit, Bitt Inc.
