Tongan island using canoes to tackle climate change
The Tongan island, Eua is not only crippled by unemployment but the vital resources and ecosystems are under constant pressure due to climate change. Locals on the island are learning to carve handmade canoes to tackle environmental challenges, provide employment to young islanders, and give them a cost-effective way of catching fish. The canoe building programme is run by the MORDI Tonga Trust and is funded by IFAD and the Tongan Government.

CEW seeks an expert for the evaluation of the Ngog-Mapubi forest
Cameroon Environment Observatory (CEW) that works to improve governance in the management of forest resources is looking for applications for the recruitment of a consultant in Integrated Management Effectiveness Tool (IMET). The winner of this tender will carry out the IMET assessment of the Ngog-Mapubi and Dibang inter-communal forest, in the Central Region of Cameroon.

Addressing 20 young Bajans and FutureBarbados candidates in the session, Secretary-General Scotland emphasised the need to empower youth and be the change they want to see.
