Uganda: Entrepreneur builds brand of drinks made from the hibiscus plant
Uganda’s Rena Beverages Solutions produces a range of hibiscus-based drinks and generates revenue of around $7,000 every month. According to Regina Nakayenga, the owner, the growing demand for health and wellness goods in Uganda, led to the brand’s success. About 400 Ugandan smallholders supply hibiscus calyces to Rena’s processing plant where it is used as the basis for the various products.

Uganda launches last-mile connectivity to increase electricity access to rural communities
Uganda launches the last-mile connectivity component under the Uganda Rural Electricity Access Project in Iganga in the eastern Luuka District with the support of the African Development Bank and other partners to provide reliable and affordable electricity to rural communities.

Trinidad and Tobago adopts world safe travel stamp
Trinidad and Tobago is now one of the 400 destinations around the world that hold a World Travel & Tourism Council’s (WTTC) ‘safe travels’ stamp. The safety and hygiene stamp was launched last year to rebuild global consumer confidence and encourage the return of safe international travel.
