Kenya Mashujaa Day
This holiday used to be known as Kenyatta Day, named after Jomo Kenyatta, who was the first Prime Minister and then President of Kenya. Mashujaa Day is usually celebrated with an event at the Nyao Stadium in Nairobi. A military parade takes place with troops dressed in colourful uniforms reflecting the red, black and green colours on the Kenyan flag.
African Development Bank Group, MTN sign $500,000 grant agreement to study women’s access to financial services
African Development Bank signs a $500,000 grant agreement with Y’ello Digital Financial Services (YDFS), a fintech subsidiary of MTN Nigeria, to research into economic, religious, and social factors that hamper access to finance for women in the region. The insights into women’s use of digital financial services will be funded through the Africa Digital Financial Inclusion Facility (ADFI).

Greenbelt Authority partners Zimbabwean firm for investment in commercial irrigation in Malawi
GBA, a Government of Malawi corporation and Maka Resources from Zimbabwe signs a memorandum of understanding (MoU), to implement large-scale commercial irrigation in Malawi. The two firms will work on scheme preparation, irrigation project implementation and establishment of agro-processing facilities.
