Rwanda’s President Paul Kagame invites Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to participate in the next Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) summit during a call by Minister of State for External Affairs V. Muraleedharan in Kigali. The two sides also discussed their local, international and multilateral issues and agreed to work with each other.

A new study published in Nature Sustainability shows a cost-benefit analysis of combating desertification in the Sahel region where the average return for every dollar invested is $1.2, despite harsh climatic conditions. About $20 billion has been pledged globally to scaling up Africa’s Great Green Wall programme. This includes $14.3 billion at a One Planet summit for biodiversity held in Paris and 1 billion from Amazon founder, Jeff Bezos, at the COP26 climate conference.

Australia’s Prime Minister Scott Morrison to speak at the Bengaluru Tech Summit, one of the biggest technology summits of India. He said that as a part of Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, Australia is already cooperating on critical mineral, digital economy, cyber security, critical and emerging technologies with India and have plans to expand more. He further added his wishes to the PM Narendra Modi for participating in Sydney Dialogue, organised by the Australian Strategic Policy Institute (ASPI).
