The Pacific island nation of Nauru opens up a new trademark regime. Now, direct national trademark applications are acceptable by post. The Nauruan Trademark Act 2019 was certified on 12 July 2019 while the first application was filed by Philip Morris International on 21 July 2021.

Micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) in Malawi form a coalition called the Malawi Union of MSMEs (MUSME) to consolidate their power and be able to speak with one voice as an association.
