Harjinder Kaur Randhawa: At 66 who started a mushroom farming biz
India’s Harjinder Kaur Randhawa, who is 66-year-old now, to support the family income started cultivating mushrooms as a hobby in her courtyard in 1989, in Dhardeo village of Amritsar district of Punjab. More than 30 years down the line, together with her sons, today Randhawa Mushroom Farm, grow as many as 12 varieties of mushroom such as button mushrooms, oyster mushrooms and milky mushrooms. The premises not just ensure all-year-round production, but also have a wholesale unit for storing up to eight quintals of the vegetable, in addition to a retail outlet.

Bangladesh wants better trade ties with Kenya
Bangladesh’s Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen and Chief Administrative Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Kenya Ababu Namwamda agrees to establish more bilateral cooperation with Kenya in tourism, IT and agriculture sectors in addition to the current trade and commerce. Namwamda lauded Bangladesh efforts in tackling climate change and its achievements towards attaining Sustainable Development Goals. The foreign minister also proposed to establish cooperation in the blue economy.
