Born in Nigeria’s oil-rich Niger Delta, Tariye Gbadegesin has helped launch a public-private pan-African infrastructure bank, the Africa Finance Corporation (AFC). She led AFC’s first wind power project and became the face of the bank’s climate engagement. In March 2020, she became Nigeria-based fund’s CEO at ARM-Harith. Gbadegesin also talked about strategy and business for achieving net-zero goals and its impact on the continent’s future development at COP26.

Cassava Technologies, a pan-African technology leader, announces to enter into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Mitsui & Co., Ltd (Mitsui), one of Japan’s largest global conglomerates. Mitsui with its extensive experience and global network will help in the development of digital infrastructure across Africa with a particular focus on data centres.

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) increases its funding for the Vanuatu Energy Access Project with a $6 million grant in order to help the island expand its energy generation and distribution capacity. To ensure energy affordability and sustainability for local households, the grant will be coupled with $1.2 million in aid from the government of Vanuatu. The project commenced in 2017 with $15.1 million in aid to help improve energy access for people.
