First All Pakistan Women Chambers Presidents Conference to be held today in Faisalabad. The core objective is to develop a ‘Roadmap for Women Empowerment’ and build mutual relations with all female chambers across the country. According to Nighat Shahid, President of Faisalabad Women Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FWCCI), at present about 21 Women Chambers of Commerce are working in the country.

Zambia’s Dorothy Eriksson runs a successful Chankwakwa agro-processing small scale factory.  This family-run farm in Kabwe make jams, sauces, dried fruit and soya products. The Zambian brand can be spotted in various supermarket chains throughout the country and Europe. According to Eriksson, her venture is based on fair trade practices and strong relationships built over time with the farmers.

The Pacific island nation of Nauru opens up a new trademark regime. Now, direct national trademark applications are acceptable by post. The Nauruan Trademark Act 2019 was certified on 12 July 2019 while the first application was filed by Philip Morris International on 21 July 2021.
