Fighting the climate crisis through energy law reform
Commonwealth Secretariat partners with legal firm Mayer Brown to review and rebuild the Energy Module of the Law and Climate Change Toolkit. It will be an online tool to assess and reform energy law frameworks. According to the Commonwealth Secretary-General Patricia Scotland, “policy-makers now have access to more energy legislation to meet their Paris Agreement targets.”

Kenesjay signs MoU with Dominica
Dominica’s Kenesjay Green Ltd (KGL) signs a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the government agency called CREAD (Climate Resilience Execution Agency for Dominica) to explore green project opportunities. The project will utilise geothermal resources to build a resilient economic future for its people while supporting the global energy transition. It will assess potential investments to accelerate eco-friendly developments.

ADB, Tonga launch joint disaster risk management work at COP26
Asian Development Bank (ADB) to showcase findings of climate and disaster risks in the Pacific nation with the Government of Tonga. The report has also identified relatively safe areas on the island for upcoming climate-resilient investments and adaptation. These findings were discussed recently at an event at COP26.
