Nigerian data visualisation startup, Mustard Insights, raises capital in a pre-seed funding round
Mustard Insights raises an undisclosed amount of capital in a pre-seed round of funding aiming to build Africa’s largest data repository. The startup, founded in January 2021 by Lawretta Egba, creates data visualisations and disseminates them to a far-reaching audience through digital and social media channels.

Sri Lanka’s strategic WWII oil tank farm lease to India extended for 50 years
Sri Lanka agrees to sign a fresh deal with India to lease out the strategic oil tank farm used as a supply base during World War II for another 50 years in the eastern port district of Trincomalee. Out of 99 tanks, 61 tanks would run under the joint venture formed between the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) and the local operators of the Indian Oil Company (LIOC).
