Champions of Business is an annual awards programme initiated by the Trinidad and Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce. Each inductee is carefully selected who had distinguished himself/herself as an exemplar in the world of business and entrepreneurship. This year, the chamber will induct Angela Lee Loy and Dr Krishna Bahadoorsingh.
Angela Lee Loy, chairperson and founder of Aegis Business Solutions Ltd, is one of TT’s most accomplished and experienced female entrepreneurs. Lee Loy is a global business leader who is involved in multiple industries across various sectors and disciplines. Since 2005, 37 individuals have been inducted into the TT Chamber’s Business Hall of Fame.

Electrification, the future of Trinidad and Tobago’s car industry

Many automakers – including Volvo and General Motors – have already committed that by 2025, their vehicles will no longer have internal combustion engines but hybrid or electric motors.

But for Trinidad and Tobago, the electrification journey has just begun. While countries, like Barbados, already have an established infrastructure and policy framework. According to the brand manager for Volvo, Vir Sieunarine the government is on the right path to developing a legislative framework to keep the country on route to electrification.
