The European Commission to disburse €41.1 million to Malta in pre-financing under the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF). It is equivalent to 13% of the country’s financial allocation and is a part of the unprecedented EU response to emerge stronger from the COVID-19 pandemic crisis, fostering the greenest recovery and resilience plans. It will include digital transitions of government IT systems, resilience-building and sustainability of the economy and society.

Amid the global chip crises, India approves a $10 billion incentive plan to attract semiconductor and display manufacturers. To establish the country as a global electronics production hub Indian government will extend financial support of up to 50 per cent of a project’s cost to eligible chip making factories, the government said in a statement.

Bangladesh to deepen its ties with the Maldives, a small Commonwealth island nation, to discuss trade, connectivity, migration and tourism as part of its greater objective of regional integration in South Asia. The PM Sheikh Hasina will hold a bilateral meeting with Maldives President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih at the Presidential Palace on December 23.
