New Zealand sets $357 mn to help pay for cleaner cars to reduce emissions
New Zealand plans to spend about $357 million on a trial basis to reduce emissions. It will include subsidies for businesses to curb emissions, offering only green buses by 2035 and improved options for cyclists and pedestrians.

Commonwealth tree planted for HM The Queen’s Jubilee
As a part of the Queen’s Green Canopy initiative, the Commonwealth Secretary-General, Rt Hon Patricia Scotland, plants the Commonwealth’s Jubilee tree. The Secretary-General planted a rare wild service tree or ‘chequer’s tree’ facing the Commonwealth headquarters at the Green Park which is one of London’s Royal Parks.
