This public holiday is observed with a flag-raising ceremony at the capital. It is celebrated with sports, speeches, and processions all across the province. The citizens enjoy family feasts of yams, taros, fish, and a variety of other dishes.

Nine African startups selected for Norrsken Impact Accelerator

In the second edition of the Norrsken Impact Accelerator, one of the programmes of the Norrsken Foundation that support entrepreneurs globally has selected about nine African startups. In 2019, Norrsken Foundation launched its entrepreneurship hub, Norrsken House, in Kigali. The hub features an African-focused seed fund and welcomed 250 entrepreneurs, and aspires to add 750 more.
