The Maldives plans to build a floating city that will have the capacity to accommodate about 20,000 people. The facility is expected to be finished by 2027 and will comprise pretty houses, stores and schools for children. As it is the lowest-lying country in the world, and also very vulnerable to climate change this floating city project is expected to have no effect in case the water level rises.
