IUCN and MoCC launch Pakistan’s first-ever Climate Change Gender Action Plan
Pakistan’s Ministry of Climate Change and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) with the financial support of Green Climate Fund launches the country’s first-ever Climate Change Gender Action Plan (ccGAP). It aims to empower women in climate change decisions and support gender-based needs as per climate-related resources.

WADA signs four-year anti-doping agreement with Commonwealth Games
The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) signs a 4-year memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Commonwealth Games Federation to collaborate on various anti-doping programme activities. This initiative will empower sports personnel to compete clean, and maintain fairness in sports.

Queen Elizabeth to miss Commonwealth Games opening ceremony
The head of the Commonwealth, Queen Elizabeth will miss this year’s Commonwealth Games 2022 opening ceremony beginning on July 28th. Prince of Wales on his mother’s behalf will read the Commonwealth Games Baton’s message at the event. The baton has arrived at the host from a 294-day journey covering all 72 nations and territories of the Commonwealth.
