Dialogue begins to get Kiribati back into Pacific Islands Forum
Kiribati pulled out from the Pacific Islands Forum in July over the regional body’s leadership and the Suva Agreement concerns. A diplomatic dialogue has been started to persuade and re-engage Kiribati to the fold.
Recently, Semi Koroilavesau, Fiji’s fisheries minister, also visited Kiribati to initiate discussions with Kiribati’s vice president, Teuea Toatu.

At Buckingham Palace, King Charles III is holding a number of Audiences during his first week as King. The Secretary General of the Commonwealth, Baroness Scotland joined the reception accompanied by The Queen Consort and High Commissioners from the Realms of the Commonwealth.

UK publishes guidelines for those wanting to pay final respects to Queen Elizabeth II
The British government issues a set of guidelines for people wishing to file past the late queen’s closed coffin that will rest on a raised platform called a catafalque in Westminster Hall at the Houses of Parliament. Thousands are expected on 19 September 2022 to pay their respects and are asked to be prepared for a long wait.
