In the ocean of Maldives, scientists have discovered hallmarks of a new ecosystem having enhanced safeguards for the marines. It is around 500 meters deep and is likely to be existent in other oceanic islands as well. The discovery was made by UK-based, Nekton, a non-profit research foundation which is on a mission to study and accelerate the mysteries of the deep oceans.

India’s finance minister, Nirmala Sitharaman, unveils its plan to create standard operating procedures (SOPs) for digital currencies during its G20 presidency. Group of Twenty (G20), is expected to host more than 200 meetings across the country to address relevant issues affecting the global economy.

To mark World Food Day, Uganda’s Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja visits an agricultural products exhibition at National Crops Resources Research Institute, Wakiso district, Uganda.  She emphasised supporting collaborations of researchers and farmers on urban farming and commercialisation during the visit.
