AfDB’s AFAWA initiative asks business enablers to apply for second round of funding to support Africa’s women-led businesses
The African Development Bank Group’s Affirmative Finance Action for Women in Africa (AFAWA) initiative is calling for the second round of Women Entrepreneurship Enablers proposals. AFAWA is offering supportive grants of up to $250,000 to organisations in order to help and grow African women-led businesses. The project aims to provide accessible financing opportunities to women entrepreneurs.

Kenya Mashujaa Day
The day was previously known as Kenyatta Day in honour of the founding president, Jomo Kenyatta. Kenyan leaders and heroes all across the world are celebrated with military parades, speeches and public events for families. This year, celebrations at the Uhuru Gardens Memorial Park in Nairobi are predicted to be attended by over 20,000 Kenyans.
Kenya debuts electric bus in clean energy push
Kenya unveils an environment-friendly electric bus to encourage smog-free commuting in the city. This electric bus from a Nairobi-based green mobility company can run for about 43 miles per hour and cover up to 360 kilometres on a single battery charge. Also, it requires only two hours of charging at a time.
