King Charles III banknote designs revealed by Bank of England
The Bank of England releases new images of the UK banknotes featuring portrait of King Charles III in it. These notes will likely enter circulation by mid-2024. According to the Bank of England the portrait is based on a photo owned by the royal household released in 2013.

India: PT Usha becomes first woman President of Indian Olympic Association
Indian former athlete PT Usha becomes the first female Olympian and first international medalist to head the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) in its 95-year-old history. The 58-year-old, Usha is also the first nominated member of parliament who will preside over the Rajya Sabha and conduct the proceedings in the absence of Chairman and Deputy Chairman.

Hanukkah
This festival is celebrated with nightly menorah lighting. Special blessings and prayers are recited on this day and celebrated with traditional foods like potato latke (pancake) and jelly-filled sufganya (doughnut). People present gifts of money and a “dreidel” (a four-sided spinning with Hebrew letters in it) is usually played by the children.
