Sierra Leone’s President, Julius Maada Bio, signs the Gender Equality and Women Empowerment Bill (GEWE Act 2022) into law. This law guarantees at least 30 per cent of female reservation in Parliament which also includes diplomatic appointments with equal pay. Additionally, the reservation will also apply to private institutions having 25 or more employees with an extension of maternity leave from 12 to 14 weeks.

African carrier Eswatini Air aims to begin operations this summer. It is likely to be scheduled around 26 March. The startup set up by Royal Eswatini National Airways Corporation is close to availing landing slots at Harare in Zimbabwe, and South African cities like Johannesburg and Cape Town. The airline has obtained ERJ-145s which is an ex-Hop French aircraft.

Lesotho joins the global commemoration of World Radio Day. According to Ms Nthati Moorosi, the Minister of Information, Communication, Science, Technology and Innovation (MICSTI), radio is acknowledged all around the world as a platform for the easy and accessible exchange of information, education and entertainment.
