Bermuda Day
On Bermuda Day, the island comes alive with colourful parades, music, dance performances, and various sporting events. The highlight of the day is the Heritage Day Parade, which features local bands, dance troupes, floats, and community groups marching through the streets of Hamilton, the capital city. The parade showcases the island’s diverse cultural heritage, including African, Caribbean, and British influences.
In addition to the parade, people participate in activities such as boat races, cycling races, and a marathon. Many Bermudians also dress in traditional attire, including the iconic Bermuda shorts, which are knee-length shorts worn with knee socks, blazers, and ties. The day is also an opportunity for locals and tourists to enjoy picnics, beach parties, and other outdoor festivities.

The International Trade Centre (ITC) and the African Union Commission (AUC) joined forces by signing a momentous memorandum of understanding. This agreement aims to foster inclusive trade by integrating small enterprises into the regional economy of Africa, unlocking their potential to thrive amidst the rise of intra-African trade. Additionally, it seeks to facilitate the exchange of valuable trade information and market intelligence through the establishment of the African Trade Observatory. Through this collaborative effort, the ITC and AUC strive to empower small businesses and promote economic growth across the African continent.
