Founders’ Day Ghana
It is a time for Ghanaians to pay tribute to their founding fathers and mothers, who fought for self-governance, sovereignty, and national unity. One of the most prominent figures celebrated on Founders’ Day is Dr Kwame Nkrumah, who became the first Prime Minister of Ghana and later its first President after leading the country to independence on March 6, 1957. The day is typically marked with various activities, including parades, cultural displays, lectures, and discussions about Ghana’s history and its vision for the future.

Umuganura Day Rwanda
The word “Umuganura” means “first fruits” in the Kinyarwanda language, and symbolises the celebration of the first harvest of the season. On this day, various rituals and ceremonies take place, including offerings of the first harvested crops, prayers, traditional dances, and feasting. The festival serves as a way to show gratitude to ancestors, promote unity and reconciliation among communities, and strengthen Rwandan cultural identity.

13th Commonwealth Women’s Affairs Ministers Meeting
The 13th Commonwealth Women’s Affairs Ministers Meeting (13WAMM) is set to take place from 21-23 August 2023 at the stunning Atlantis Paradise Island Resort in Nassau, the Bahamas. This significant gathering will convene under the theme ‘Equality Toward a Common Future.’
As the host country, the Government of the Bahamas will lead the meeting, which serves as the primary decision-making platform for the Commonwealth women’s affairs ministers.
