Malaysia’s single window initiative boosts startup ecosystem and digital identity
Malaysia’s Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim unveiled the government plan for the implementation of a comprehensive single-window initiative. This strategic effort is meticulously designed to optimise operations and enhance collaborative synergy among various agencies operating within the startup ecosystem. The overarching objective is to foster a more streamlined environment that encourages seamless coordination. An ambitious target of establishing 5,000 startup companies by the year 2025 has been set. Currently, the startup ecosystem involves a network of at least 14 agencies, encompassing diverse facets ranging from funding and product innovation to marketing and specialised knowledge.

Antigua and Barbuda opens its first LNG power plant
Antigua and Barbuda has achieved a significant milestone by inaugurating its first-ever liquefied natural gas (LNG) facility, heralding a potential transformation in the nation’s energy domain. According to reports, the country recently received four newly acquired LNG storage tanks, each boasting a capacity of about 1,000 cubic meters. These tanks are slated for individual transportation to the Crabbs power plant. Melford Nicholas, the Minister Responsible for the Antigua Public Utilities Authority (APUA), expressed his enthusiasm for the arrival of this equipment. He highlighted its pivotal role in advancing the country’s journey towards energy diversification and the reduction of carbon emissions.
