Uganda’s journey toward political stability included the enactment of a new constitution in 1995. After 30 years of political instability, Ugandans voted in favour of returning to multiparty politics in a national referendum held in July 2005. The formal Ugandan Independence Day national parade takes place at the Kololo Ceremonial Grounds, where the President leads the ceremony. This day holds great significance for the Ugandan people, symbolising their freedom and national identity.
