The Commonwealth Peace Prize has received significant interest, prompting an extension of the nomination deadline to 17 January 2025. Part of the Faith in the Commonwealth Initiative, the prize honours peacebuilders who use faith to foster dialogue, resolve conflicts, and promote lasting peace across the Commonwealth’s diverse communities.
Announcing the extension in London, Commonwealth Secretary-General Rt Hon Patricia Scotland KC highlighted the importance of peace in achieving just societies. Sir David Khalili, Chairman of the Khalili Foundation, praised faith as a powerful tool for harmony and understanding.
Launched on the International Day of Peace 2024, the prize will be awarded every three years and celebrates individuals with a proven track record of faith-driven contributions to peace and conflict resolution within the Commonwealth.
