In the days leading up to the event, the streets are decorated with the beautiful and bright colours of the Seychelles flag and fairy lights are hung from lamp posts. On the day itself, people celebrate by going on picnics or having BBQ with friends and families in parks and beaches. The fireworks display during the evening is the most anticipated light show of the year.
