Commonwealth Points of Light Award recognises the extraordinary efforts of Pakistani lawyer and activist, Tahera Hasan, for promoting the well-being of orphaned and abandoned children. Founder of Imkaan Welfare Organisation, Hasan runs a shelter in Karachi with nearly 700,000 people in it.
