Taliaoa John Loau

Chair of the Pacific Blues

John Loau is a distinguished executive and strategic leader with extensive experience spanning public service, business development, and international relations across the Pacific region and United States. As a graduate of the U.S. Marine Corps’ Organizational Leadership Academy and former delegate to the Defense Intelligence Diplomacy Service, he brings a unique blend of diplomatic acumen and strategic leadership to his roles.

His executive career encompasses founding several successful ventures, including Pacific Economic Development NZ and BCTIRS, where he specializes in business mentoring and compliance training. Previously, he demonstrated his operational excellence as Program Director for Homeland Security & Investigation at ICDC College and through his leadership of a successful private security firm serving high-profile entertainment industry clients.

In the public sector, John has held significant appointments, including his role as People Leader for New Zealand’s COVID-19 Response Team at Whakarongorau Aotearoa and his mayoral appointment to the Neighborhood Advisory Council in Los Angeles. His expertise in renewable energy, demonstrated through work with BlackRock and Solar Zero, reflects his commitment to sustainable development.

Currently serving as Chair of the Pacific Blues and maintaining an active role in governance initiatives, John is a sought-after speaker on business development, cultural leadership, and public policy. His influence extends internationally through his strategic advisory work and public speaking engagements, where he leverages his cross-cultural expertise to foster business growth and community development across the Pacific region.

A respected thought leader, John holds multiple board positions and continues to drive initiatives that strengthen international business relations and community engagement. Julia is the founding and managing partner of Charltons, an award winning Hong Kong corporate finance Hong Kong law firm. Julia is admitted as a solicitor in Hong Kong, England and Wales and the BVI. She practises in the field of corporate finance, including M&A, private equity, securities, virtual assets and funds.

Julia is a member of the Commonwealth Enterprise & Investment Council (CWEIC)’s Global Advisory Council. She is also a member of several Hong Kong boards and committees, most notably The Takeovers and Mergers Panel and the Takeovers Appeals Committee of the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission and the Listing Review Committee of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Julia is also a Senior Fellow of the Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute.
