Chief Uche Geoffrey Nnaji, Nigeria’s Honourable Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, recently met with Commonwealth Secretary-General Rt. Hon. Patricia Scotland KC during the 79th United Nations General Assembly to discuss Nigeria’s involvement in the Commonwealth AI Initiative.
The high-level meeting focused on launching the Commonwealth AI Academy, powered by Intel, to train millions of Nigerians, particularly youth and women, in industry-ready AI skills. This initiative aims to equip Nigerians with specialised knowledge, such as AI for the public sector and AI for youth, fostering innovation and building a future-ready workforce capable of tackling global challenges.
