On Malta Republic Day, also known as ‘Jum ir-Repubblika’, begins with a national Malta parade in Valletta after which an investiture ceremony takes place at the Palace during which chosen civilians are bestowed with the nation’s highest honours for their services and commendable deeds. Concerts by traditional village band clubs take place across the nation throughout the day.
