Malaysia has introduced the Climate Finance Innovation Lab (CFIL), a new initiative designed to accelerate the development of innovative climate finance solutions. The platform, launched by the Joint Committee on Climate Change (JC3) and managed by Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad (BPMB), will bring together public, private, and philanthropic partners to advance climate financial solutions in the country.

Speaking at the launch, Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) Assistant Governor and JC3 co-chair Madelena Mohamed emphasized the urgent need to scale up climate finance and nature-positive actions in Malaysia. JC3 co-chair Salmah Bee Mohd Mydin described CFIL as an “incubator for catalytic projects” essential to achieving Malaysia’s national climate goals. The lab aims to address financing challenges by connecting project owners with diverse funders to scale up climate and nature-related solutions across the country.
