The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed that the TATA Indian Premier League 2025 will recommence on 17 May, following a week-long suspension due to military tensions between India and Pakistan.

The tournament’s restart will feature Royal Challengers Bengaluru versus Kolkata Knight Riders at Bengaluru. The final, originally scheduled for 25 May, has been pushed to 3 June. This 18th edition of the IPL marks the tournament’s first interruption due to military tensions between the neighbouring nations. The decision to resume came following a ceasefire agreement between the two nations, confirmed after senior military officials from both sides held talks via hotline, marking the first such communication since the conflict began.
