Ahmedabad, India, has been officially selected to host the 2030 Commonwealth Games, marking the centenary of the sporting event. The decision was confirmed at Wednesday’s Commonwealth Sport General Assembly in Glasgow. This will be India’s second time hosting the Games, following New Delhi in 2010. Ahmedabad won the bid over Abuja, Nigeria, while Canada, which hosted the first Games in 1930, did not submit a bid. Meanwhile, Glasgow will organise a scaled-down version of the 2026 Games after Victoria, Australia withdrew due to cost concerns.
