The day is dedicated to honouring and remembering the great poet, philosopher, spiritual leader, and warrior. Guru Gobind Singh founded the Khalsa order of Sikh warriors and introduced the five Ks – the five articles of faith worn by baptized Khalsa Sikhs. He helped shape and strengthen the Sikh community and faith. His life and contributions are celebrated each year on his birth anniversary. The day is characterised by an atmosphere of joy, reverence, and communal harmony.
