With just 25 days to go until the start of the 13th African Games in Accra, Ghana is making final preparations to host the major continental sporting event. At a ceremony attended by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, officials highlighted the nation’s readiness to stage the competition from August 4-19. Over 6,000 athletes from 54 African countries are expected to take part across 20 sports.

The Minister of Youth and Sports, Hon. Mustapha Ussif (MP), thanked the president for his support and noted the challenges that have been overcome to reach this milestone. He stated that the facilities constructed for the Games, such as those at Borteyman Sports Complex commissioned recently, will leave a lasting legacy for Ghana.
